Profile photos are a must when it comes to Indian dating online, most South Asians want to see an indication of what a potential date looks like before making contact… why? Well, it seems that in face-to-face meetings first impressions seem to count when partaking in online dating.
Poll results indicate that a photo on your dating profile is the first and most important aspect in attracting another user’s attention. Results show that if a profile does not have a photo it will not engage as much attention, 91% of those who took the poll said that they would ignore a profile with no photo. Where daters can build a good profile by adding multiple shots of themselves are even more effective with results showing that 46% of members are more likely to stop and contact another online dater if there is more than one shot. This is an interesting result as it shows that a user wants to see multiple shots to get a good idea of the kid of person they are about to embark upon approaching.

The quality of photos was also highlighted in the survey; the results found that first impressions count and quality is a must for positive interaction between potential daters. For people considering online dating take heed from the survey and ensure you upload clear and good quality photos, 74% of online daters pay more attention to a clear photo, than to one that looks like it’s been scanned off an old film reel.
Profiles with no photos are 66% more likely to be passed over without a glance than profiles with at least one photo. The survey seems to conclude that photos do count, and whether or not the daters profile is witty and clever, if there is no photo it may be a rarely it get a read.
