Mattel

Will entrepreneurs be scrambling to buy the new entrepreneur Barbie? You tell us.

This week, Mattel announced that "entrepreneur" would be Barbie's career of the year. In the past, Barbie has gone into space, worked at McDonald's and walked dogs. However, this is the first time Barbie has taken on the title of entrepreneur.

While entrepreneurial minds should be excited to encourage kids, especially girls, to pursue entrepreneurship, there are a few questions that remain to be answered about Entrepreneur Barbie. First, what does it mean that she's an entrepreneur? It is never specified what business she owns. Has Mattel put more focus on the glamour than the daily grind of entrepreneurship? Plus, as always with Barbie, there is the question of how her unachievable figure affects the body image of young girls.
