Of all the startup hubs gaining steam across the U.S., few have as hearty a networking spirit as Los Angeles' Silicon Beach.
Case in point: the second-annual Silicon Beach Fest. The four-day tech/entertainment festival, which kicked off this week, promises to deliver lively panel discussions with speakers including GRP Partner's Mark Suster and Nely Galan, the former president of entertainment for Telemundo. In addition to topics like "celebs and startups" and "big data for entertainment," however, the event, which is being held at various co-working spaces around downtown Santa Monica, will also feature a startup showcase and startup village for young founders eager to get noticed.
But let's not forget about the parties. Acknowledging the power of pairing booze and business, Silicon Beach Fest hosted not just one but three opening night soirees. Here's a peek at one of those parties held at LA's premiere Viceroy Hotel:
