How do I find women-owned companies to do business with internationally?
I am the International Sales Manager for LW Scientific, Inc. We are a 100% American owned business; we manufacture microscopes, centrifuges, and other laboratory products. Our entire International Sales Department is composed of females and we are looking for female-owned businesses outside the US, or located in the US, but export to countries outside the US. How can we find some?

According to our contacts at the Women Presidents Organization (WPO), a membership group for top women business owners, the best resource is the Womens Leadership Board at Harvards Kennedy School of Business. Additionally, the WPO is going global this year. They will be launching a chapter in Lima, Peru and the UK by the end of the first quarter in 2008.
Networking with U.S.-based women-owned businesses can help you, too. In addition to WPO (www.womenpresidentsorg.com), sites that can be useful include The Athena Foundation (www.athenafoundation.org), the Committee of 200 (http://www.c200.org) and the National Association of Women's Business Owners (http://www.nawbo.org). Government sites that can help include Women's Business Development Centers (http://www.wbdc.org) and Women-21.gov (http://www.women-21.gov).
