Moving is never fun, whether it involves your home or your business. Peter Madden of AdvertisingAge shares his tips for making your next business move less stressful. They are geared toward advertising agencies, but I think the tips still apply to any small-business owner contemplating relocation. Here are a few of his top tips:

• Nothing is more important than hiring a good corporate real-estate professional to represent you.
• Hire people to help you that you genuinely like.
• Thank everyone involved--often.

How often do you back up your data? If can't even remember, you may want to participate in "Fall Backup Day," thought up by Maxell. The company has selected November 2 for its annual data back up day, the same weekend Americans will "fall back." According to a study by Datamonitor, 33 percent of businesses surveyed said losing their data could put them out of business. That's why Maxell has launched the initiative, urging business owners to prevent potential disaster by backing up their systems. As for the best protective measure, Maxell says removable files can be saved to high-tech tape, DVD or CD formats.

And don't forget, daylight-saving time ends November 4.

Last week, we blogged about Breast Cancer Awareness Month and some of the companies joining the fight against breast cancer, including Target and Yoplait. Now Sony is getting in on it, too. Not only is the electronics manufacturer offering various items in pink, but Sony Style is also donating a maximum of $50,000 from its various breast cancer initiatives from 2007 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
