Good Time to Graduate

(Business News, Business Trends, HR and Management)

Good news for college seniors, bad news for potential employers. According to a USA Today article, it's a student market. New grads should be excited to learn that they'll be entering one of the best job markets in years. The National Association of Colleges and Employers says employers plan to hire about 20 percent more new college graduates during the current academic year than last year. On top of that, employers are offering perks like signing bonuses and flat-screen TVs, in addition to higher starting salaries. The most in-demand grads hold degrees in business, engineering and computer-related fields.

Drive-ins Make a Comeback

(Business Trends)

They were all the rage in the '50s and '60s, and now they're becoming trendy once again. Drive-in movie theaters are making a comeback in various parts of the country, with one opening tonight in Southern California. The Star-Vu Drive-In in Costa Mesa boasts an inflatable screen that's 72 feet wide and 46 feet tall. Inflation time is only 15 minutes with the help of two air blowers. The screen is even designed to withstand up to 40 mile-per-hour winds.

Right now, Star-Vu is one of only two drive-ins in the United States using this type of screen; the other outdoor theater is in York, Pennsylvania. The screens start at about $4,500 for a 16-foot-wide model.
