From a field of more than 1,000 businesses in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, the Council of Better Business Bureaus recently selected Church Hill Classics as the winner of its 2006 BBB International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics in the 11-to-99-employee category. This Danbury, Connecticut, frame maker was honored as a business that demonstrates integrity and reliability and is dedicated to upholding high ethical standards. Company founder and president Lucie Voves attributes the award to her committed staff of employees, all of whom "rally to deliver superior service and act with conscience," she says. When all we see these days are headlines announcing just one more business gone bad, it's great to finally hear about somebody doing something right--and getting rewarded for it.
