Calling all women entrepreneurs! Have you been searching for a group of women who can relate to your needs as a female entrepreneur? I found a group on Your Success Network's website that formed shortly after the Women in Charge Conference sponsored by OPEN from American Express and Entrepreneur magazine last week. The conference, held in Long Beach, California, brought together about 500 women entrepreneurs.

The day began with a keynote address by Kim Kiyosaki, bestselling author of Rich Woman, who passed along an important message to the women in attendance: "Make a lot of mistakes, and make them faster!" Kiyosaki admitted that making mistakes and learning lessons from them was an integral part of how she and husband Robert (aka, "Rich Dad") became successful in business. The entrepreneur shared her struggles and triumphs on the road to becoming a business leader, and told the audience of the importance of taking control of their financial lives.

After the introduction by Kiyosaki, the group broke into sessions facilitated by various experts in fields like e-mail marketing, search engine marketing, networking, and getting what you deserve in the money game. In one session, participants also got the chance to pitch their business ideas to the editors of Entrepreneur magazine and Entrepreneur.com.

Following the sessions, Entrepreneur magazine and OPEN from American Express presented their 2006 Woman of the Year, Maureen Kelly, founder of Tarte Cosmetics. Kelly shared her inspirational story with participants, letting them know if she could do it, they could do it. Kelly had no industry experience when she decided to take her life savings and invest it into creating down-to-earth makeup for real women. A little faith and a lot of hard work paid off for Kelly, who's company broke sales of $15 million last year.
