Where Do You Get Your News?

If you're part of a growing number of people, you get your news online, specifically, on online newspaper sites. According to MediaPost, the Newspaper Association of America revealed in a study that the audience for newspaper websites is growing faster than the internet audience overall. The study found that in the first quarter of 2007 an average of 59 million people visited these websites each month, a 5.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2006. However, the number of overall internet users only grew by 2.7 percent.

The group of online newspaper viewers is an advertiser's dream. According to the study, almost 12 percent of internet users who visited a newspaper website had an income of $150,000 or more, compared to 9 percent of the general web population. In addition, 88 percent of this demographic is inclined toward online shopping, compared to 79 percent of internet users.
