Training and Support

Initial and ongoing training of franchise owners is a basic ingredient of our system and covers design principles, product knowledge, sales and marketing, and business management. Training begins with a 45-day home study preparation program. This initial training known as “Ready-Set-Go” includes the necessary steps to start up your new interior decorating and design franchise. New franchisees then attend Professional Decorating and Sales School, a comprehensive 2-week classroom training session conducted at Lifestyle University in our corporate headquarters in Easton, Maryland, a beautiful small town located off the Chesapeake Bay. The next step in our ongoing training is provided through 12 modules of weekly "Directions" sessions where we focus on each key aspect of our business. Training continues with monthly regional meetings, training sessions conducted by suppliers, mini-conferences, our annual Conference, special national training events, and our Executive Franchise program which is designed to bring a franchise to a higher level in both size and sales volume.

Merchandising

INTERIORS by Decorating Den offers the potential franchise owner the opportunity to purchase wholesale products with more than 100 Preferred Suppliers. With the advantage of our multi-million dollar group buying power, INTERIORS by Decorating Den has negotiated superior supplier packages to form a structured Preferred Supplier Network. This network supports the franchisee and enables them to spend their time participating in revenue-generating activities instead of trying to get new vendors while being faced with minimum orders, stocking requirements, and/or large minimum opening orders. The Preferred Supplier Network allows the owner to design projects in multi-lifestyle categories as well as satisfy multiple home owner demographic profiles.
