Emmanuel College is a coed, residential, Catholic liberal arts and sciences college located on 17 acres in the middle of the excitement, resources and culture of the city of Boston. EmmanuelÂ's neighbors include a world-class medical center, two major art museums and Fenway Park. With a strong liberal arts and sciences core curriculum, our proud tradition since 1919, Emmanuel has over 1,700 undergraduate students from 24 countries and 32 states. A new Academic Science Center, opening in 2009, will advance EmmanuelÂ's education mission, as it reflects the CollegeÂ's goal of building distinctive academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences through leveraging its unique location in the Longwood Medical Area.

With over 80 different co-curricular clubs, activities and organizations on campus, this is a community alive with a string sense of mission, a vibrant, confident faith and a joyful spirit. Emmanuel students are changes to act, to lead and to give generously to others; community service is a hallmark of the Emmanuel experience. EmmanuelÂ's NCAA Division III athletics programs give every recruit a chance to make his or her mark. Emmanuel offers 14 varsity teams. Our strong intramural sports program keeps everyone in the game. Our athletic program focuses on the development of the whole person. At Emanuel, everyone who wants to play, gets to play.

First- Year Seminars This innovative program is designed to build a strong academic foundation for the rest of your college career. Every first year student takes a seminar of his or her choice in the fall or spring semester. Our Honors Program Each year, highly motivated students are invited to participate. First year students are eligible to take part in the Emmanuel Honors Colloquium, an intense, bi-monthly discussion of books and other texts with faculty. The Carolyn A. Lynch Institute Dedicated to preparing teachers in mathematics, science and technology for urban elementary and secondary levels, The Carolyn A. Lynch Institute awards scholarships to talented undergraduates with a commitment to this goal. Pre-Health and Pre-Law Professions Preparation To help students continue to succeed beyond our campus, our pre-health and pre-law advisory committee helps you tailor your academic program toward your goals and will guide you through the application process. Academic Resource Center (ARC) From workshops to individual peer tutoring, the ARC offers specially designed programs to help any students in any major meet her or his academic goals. Study Abroad You can choose to spend a summer, a semester or a year at one of many universities, Emmanuel students have studied around the world, including management in China, education in Australia, art in Italy, and political and economic development in Central America. The Colleges of the Fenway Our five neighboring colleges, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Simmons College, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Wheelock College, join us in sharing resources so that you can take a highly specialized course we may not offer, find an unusual library book, or play in our shared orchestra. L.E.A.D.E.R.S. This is a unique program that recognizes that learning takes place outside of the classroom. The program fosters confidence, leadership skills and inner strength by focusing on Leadership, Ethics, Activities, Dedication to Service, Exploration, Relationships and Spirituality.

For more information or to apply for admission, please visit www.emmanuel.edu. We require an Emmanuel College application or the Common Application, available online, an essay, a secondary school transcript which includes first semester grades, two letters of recommendation and the SAT or ACT test. Students whose native language is not English should submit the TOEFL.

Our campus is alive with energy of teaching and learning, of exploration and research. Our grassy quad is framed by classic brick buildings and contemporary architecture, flowering bushes, simple benches and peaceful stone statuary. We sit on 17 acres in the midst of the excitement, resources and culture of Boston. Our neighbors are the world-class surgeons of the Longwood Medical area, the Monets and Gauguins of the Museum of Fine ArtsÂ… and 250,000 college students at institutions across the city.

Emmanuel College is committed to providing students with a quality education at an affordable cost. And we offer billing options and payment plans to ensure that youÂ're able to pay for college in the way most convenient for you. 2007-2008 Tuition and Fees Tuition: $26,100 Room and Board: $11,200 (double occupancy) Fees: $525 Health Insurance: $1,375 (Emmanuel plan 2007-2008) Total: $ 37,825 (plus own health insurance) $39,200 (including Emmanuel insurance)At Emmanuel, financial assistance programs include a combination of scholarships, institutional grants, federal and state grants, federal loans and part-time employment. Merit scholarships are based on a combination of your high school GPA and SAT/ ACT test results, or other factors including leadership and community service, or recommendations from an alumna or a current faculty or a staff member of the college.
