With the same academic content and rigor as the on-campus Professional MBA Program, lecture content is delivered to the distance MBA students via mixed-media DVDs that capture the entire lecture to include PowerPoint® slides, student questions, discussions, presentations and special speakers. Distance MBA students earn a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University not an online or distance degree. The Program offers a comprehensive MBA that provides its students with a solid foundation in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, and Computer Information Systems; this curriculum gives those without the formal business education a solid foundation on which to build and direct their career in a more horizontal manner. The Distance MBA Program curriculum is the same academic content and rigor as the on-campus Professional MBA Program. Further, students earn an MBA from Colorado State University not a distance or online degree.
School Says - Admissions
The admissions criteria for The Distance MBA Program is a 3.0 cumulative GPA in undergraduate study, at least 4 years of full time professional experience and an average GMAT score of 580. If an applicant has a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better and at least 8 years of full time professional experience OR a graduate degree then they are encouraged to petition for a waiver to the GMAT requirement. Full admission criteria and all applicable forms may be found at www.admission.CSUmba.com. Admissions are a scheduled in the fall and spring of each year. The application deadline for fall admissions is July 15 and for the spring admission, the deadline is December 8. While there are classes in the summer, there are no admissions in the summer term.
School Says - Campus Life
The Distance MBA Program is recorded at the same time as the on-campus Professional MBA Program is conducted each week. The campus MBA is held in a room with four commercial TV cameras; the full classroom dynamic is captured to include the full lecture, PowerPoint slides, student questions, discussions, presentations and special speakers. This content is burned to DVDs and mailed out to students around the world the next morning. Additionally, this content is available to all students via video streaming. The Program offers students a personal connection to the campus and to their peers through direct interaction via a unique MBA Intranet that allows threaded and chat room discussions to give the feeling of being connected to the classroom and the campus.
