School Says - Student Body
At Barry, you learn within a community of students representing all compass points, ethnicities, and faith perspectives. In fact, U.S. News & World Report ranked Barry among the top 20 universities nationwide for campus diversity. There are more than 4,000 full-time undergraduate and 3,500 graduate students.
Student Activities
Barry has an active student body that participates in more than 65 student organizations, including national honor societies, sororities, and fraternities. You can plan a Greek life fundraiser, review the latest trends for the student newspaper, or sing at an interfaith concert - the choice is yours. Join the Campus Activities Board, where you can help plan events such as barbecues, lectures, dances, and trips to South Florida's many attractions.
After studying, you can also lounge by Penafort Pool, take free wellness classes such as kickboxing and salsa dancing, or work out in the fully-equipped fitness center. Intramural sports include basketball, golf, sand volleyball, soccer, and softball.
Athletics
Barry fields 12 NCAA Division II teams (Sunshine State Conference): men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, and tennis, and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. The Buccaneers have won seven NCAA National Championships.
School Says - Academics
At Barry, we try to make earning your master's degree as seamless as possible. In some programs, such as social work, education, and sport management, you can earn both your bachelor's and master's degrees in just five years.
Barry's Honors Program challenges you with classes designed to build critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills. At the Learning Center, you can receive one-on-one tutoring in its writing, reading, and math labs. And if you have a learning disability, the Center for Advanced Learning supports you with tutoring, counseling, testing, and classroom accommodations.
You'll also find opportunities to study abroad to destinations such as Europe and China. Barry is also a member of the College Consortium for International Studies, which allows you to enroll through member schools for study abroad programs in more than 30 countries.

Barry University accepts applications on a rolling basis. To apply, you must submit a completed application and $30 application fee ($20 for online application); official transcripts from all high schools and colleges attended; and official SAT or ACT scores. (Barry's ID codes are 5053 for SAT I and 0718 for ACT.)

School Says - Cost Aid
Full-time tuition for the 2009-10 school year is $26,400. Room and board may average an additional $9,000. You may incur other expenses for books, supplies, laboratory fees, and transportation. Tuition and fees are charged on a semester basis. (Please note that all rates given are subject to change.)At Barry, we do everything possible to help you find affordable ways to get the education you want and need. Barry participates in the full array of federal and state financial aid programs and offers grants and scholarships based on your cumulative GPA and standardized test scores. Close to 90 percent of our undergraduates receive some form of financial assistance.
