School Says - Academics
Lynn University faculty members love teaching and challenge you to become active, intentional and purposeful learners. We welcome students who have varying levels of academic abilities and learning styles and a strong desire to excel. Classes average 15 students.

The innovative curriculum is career-focused with a broad-based liberal arts foundation that stresses both critical thinking and real-life applications. Our core curriculum is called "The Dialogues of Learning." It's divided into three areas: Self and Society, Belief and Reason and Justice and Civic Life, and has a number of distinctive features. For example, instead of taking the traditional two years of general education courses before you can begin taking courses in your major, you'll take foundation courses along with major courses throughout your four years of study. Forget traditional college algebra-instead, you'll be taking relevant, real-world math and science classes, and doing writing and public speaking in every class. Your readings will be from Eastern and Western thought, along with ancient and modern-day texts. And you won't be sitting in any lecture halls. Instead, all your classes will be made up of 15 students or less, and half or more of your classes will be taught in seminar format. The Dialogues of Learning ensure that your time, and investment, at Lynn are rewardedÂâ€"with intensive experiences, fresh insight into and a heightened awareness of yourself, your community and the larger world. Most important, youÂ'll have the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a global society and economy.

In addition to colleges of liberal education, business, communication, education and hospitality, Lynn has a school of aeronautics and conservatory of music. Most majors require completion of at least one internship for experience in the major and resume-building.

School Says - Admissions
Lynn has rolling admissions with a priority deadline of March 1. Lynn accepts the Lynn application, the Common Application or the Universal College Application. You can apply online directly at http://www.lynn.edu/admissions/applying-to-lynn/apply-now. Successful applicants generally have a B or better high school GPA. The middle 50 percent of admitted students achieved a combined SAT score (critical reading + math) of 880-1050. Students with an outstanding high school profile will be encouraged to apply for our honors program, which affords additional academic opportunities.

Do you have a clear idea of what you want to get from your college experience? Then Lynn's 3-year degree plan is a powerful strategy to enhance your academic and career path. Beginning in Fall 2010, you can apply to become one of a select group of first-year students who can choose to complete their Lynn University degrees in 3 instead of the typical 4 years Ââ€" a way to achieve your educational aspirations sooner and make a Lynn University degree more affordable. In fact, youÂ'll save an estimated $45,600 (tuition and fees, room and board, books, transportation, and personal expenses) over the cost of a 4-year degree.

You can apply for the 3-year degree plan if you achieve a 3.0 GPA during your first semester and maintain the same GPA during spring semester. If accepted, the dean of the college in which your major is offered will become your academic advisor and will closely guide you in choosing your courses and making sure you are on track.

Like your peers, you'll take a course load of 15 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters plus 2 credits (one course) during the January term. Once selected into the 3-year degree plan, youÂ'll enroll in summer school tuition-free to take 9 credit hours of 200-level Dialogues of Learning (Lynn's core curriculum) courses. The second year and third years, you'll take 18 credits fall and spring semesters and two January term courses (4 credits), for 40 credits each year.

To begin this process, you and your family must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Lynn University Application for Financial Aid. The federal processor will send a report to you and the university indicating your expected family contribution toward educational expenses. When you have been admitted to Lynn University and the financial analysis has been received from you or the federal processor, the university will determine your financial aid award and notify you. You may access your financial aid awards online.
