School Says - Admissions
Incoming freshman students are high school graduates and college transfer students with fewer than twelve semester hours or eighteen quarter hours of transferable credits. Concordia University has a rolling admission process; however, applications submitted by the following dates are given priority: Fall Semester: May 1 Spring Semester: December 1 Summer Semester: March 1 The only exception to these deadlines is the Nursing Program; freshman nursing applications are due to the University no later than February 1. Ready to Apply? Please submit the following: 1. Freshmen may apply online for free or you may download the print application and submit it with your $40 application fee. 2. Request official transcripts of academic coursework completed to date. All final transcripts are required prior to registration and enrollment. 3. Submit ether SAT-I or ACT scores. The college code numbers for the tests are: SAT 4079; ACT 3458. 4. Request from teachers or guidance counselors 2 letters of recommendation to CU on your behalf. CU will accept your recommendations on the downloadable recommendation form or as a personal letter. 5. Admission Essay. The admission essay is an opportunity for our faculty to get to know you prior to your enrollment. A variety of essay questions are available on our admission website. We will also accept the common application essay and/or the essay from the SAT test.

Centrally located on 14 acres in Northeast Portland, the Concordia campus hums with life. You and your friends can take in movies, go to dances, enjoy live music or just kick back. Take part in residence hall tournaments and competitive sports. Attend community seminars about current topics. Get involved in the semi-annual service project or one of many community and volunteer opportunities on or around campus. Living on the Concordia University campus is a great opportunity to make friends and experience college life at its best. Our four residence halls have got you coveredÃâ"every room comes pre-loaded with a micro-fridge, free local phone service, free in-room high-speed internet access (e-mail account included), and optional cable. In addition, we provide beds, desks, closets, dressers, bookshelves, and a community lounge with cable television in every hall. Laundry facilities are on-site and the dining hall is just steps away. Concordia University offers a mix of traditional residence halls and apartments that have full kitchens, unfurnished living areas and furnished bedrooms.

In addition to federal aid, student loans, and work study opportunities. Scholarships Merit Scholarship - Based on cumulative GPA, these scholarships can be awarded regardless of need. They are renewable all four years, based on maintaining a certain GPA. Merit scholarships range from $4,000 to $13,500. Leadership Scholarship - This scholarship is geared towards students active in school, church, and community who are planning to be involved in activities at Concordia University. Recipients can receive up to a $1,000 renewable scholarship. Talent Scholarships - Talent scholarships are available in the following areas: choir, handbells, menÃ's and womenÃ's basketball, soccer, golf, track & field, cross country, menÃ's baseball, womenÃ's softball and volleyball. Lutheran Scholarship - The following are available: Professional Church Workers (PCW) in a LCMS church-$1,500/year; Sylwester LCMS PCW Family Scholarship (student has a parent who is a PCW) -$1,000/year; Lutheran Family Pastor Scholarship (Non-LCMS)-$1,000/year; Lutheran High School Graduate-$1,000/year. Phi Theta Kappa - This scholarship is reserved for transfer students who are active members of Phi Theta Kappa and meet a minimum GPA requirement. These awards start at $6,000.
