Peterson's Competitive Colleges, The Fiske Guide to Colleges, and Barron's Best Buys in College Education consistently recognize PC as an outstanding institution. U. S. News lists PC as one of 360 "Best Values" among national liberal arts colleges, and Washington Monthly listed PC as the top liberal arts college in the nation in 2007. Six PC professors have been recognized as SC CASE Professors of the Year. The Russell Program helps PC students recognize the influence and responsibilities of modern communications media. Recent on-campus speakers have included newspaper columnist David Broder, author/journalist Bill Moyers, media critic Jean Kilbourne, former White House Press Secretary DeeDee Myers, television anchor Soledad O'Brien, and gifted economist/author Ben Stein. Our Cultural Enrichment Program brings outstanding speakers and performers to campus each year. Some recent performers have included the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats, the Boston Brass, and tenor Rodrick Dixon. Study abroad opportunities for students abound. PC's collaborative partnership with Ghuizou University in China expands the global awareness of students and faculty through academic and cultural exchanges. PC also has a cooperative program with the University of Havana in Cuba. Our Washington Semester program allows students to participate in an academically challenging internship in the DC area as part of their coursework for the fall term. The PC-at-Oxford program is a joint venture with Corpus Christi College at Oxford University. Students at PC have unique opportunities to interact with faculty through freshman seminar courses, research, internships, independent study, and capstone experiences. A living-learning approach to residence life offers faculty and students opportunities within the residence halls for small study groups. Personal attention and interaction between faculty and students is a hallmark at PC. Our faculty are very student-centered and truly care about our students as individuals.

Presbyterian College offers a plethora of student organizations and activities. Our honorary clubs include Alpha Psi Omega, Beta Beta Beta, Delta Omicron, Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Amega, Phi Sigma Theta, Phi Sigma Alpha, Pi Gamma Mu, Psi Chi, Sigma Kappa Alpha, Sigma Pi Sigma, Sigma Tau Delta. Leadership clubs and organizations include Inter-Fraternity Council, Honor Council, Leadership PC, Pan-Hellenic Council, President's Council, Residence Hall Association, Student Alumni Council, Student Government Association, Student Union Board, Wysor Rangers. There are academic clubs in virtually every discipline. We also offer several student publications and on-campus student-fun radio station. There are many religious clubs and many, varied fine arts groups and choirs. We also have a very strong athletic program transitioning to Division I (FCS), offering opportunities in men's varsity teams in football, basketball, tennis, cross country, golf, soccer, lacrosse, and baseball and women's varsity teams in basketball, golf, tennis, soccer, volleyball, softball, cross country, and lacrosse. Intramural sports provide every student with the opportunity to participate in a varied program conducted throughout the year. Activities include football, soccer, basketball, tennis, swimming, racquetball, billiards, softball, volleyball, ping pong, indoor soccer, sports trivia, and a road race. There are also co-educational opportunities in aerobics, snow skiing, and whitewater rafting. A 31-acre tract adjacent to the eastern end of the campus has been developed as a comprehensive intramural complex.

School Says - Academics
The College strives to develop in students the capacity of understanding, the intellectual curiosity, and the strength of character necessary for leadership it develops servant leaders of our students. Small classes give increased personal attention and greater opportunity for self-expression on the part of all students. Leading professors in all departments teach all level classes; thus, the benefit of their wide knowledge and experience can be shared with freshmen and upperclassmen. All entering freshmen must take freshman seminar courses which emphasize critical thinking, communication, and small group experiences. These courses offer new students the opportunity to interact with faculty and fellow students in a unique manner. All students must fulfill an intercultural education requirement by either studying abroad, completing coursework that provides an intercultural perspective, or completing a practicum experience that focuses on enhancing learning through internship opportunities. There are general education requirements for all students which include courses in English composition and literature, fine arts, history, mathematics, natural sciences, physical education, religion, foreign languages, and social sciences. Study abroad is encouraged and opportunities abound in many different countries. The Carol International House and the Senior Hall provide living learning opportunities in intercultural programming. The Presbyterian College faculty is comprised of 84 full-time professors and instructors, 94 percent of whom have their doctorate or other terminal degree, and 30 part-time faculty. With one professor for every thirteen students, the PC faculty provides close personal attention in a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. Their training comes from over 100 colleges and universities including Harvard, Princeton, and Cornell. PC faculty have been selected as Fulbright Scholars and Fulbright-Hayes recipients in recent years. In recent years, PC students have received 55 academic honors and grants, including a Rhodes Scholarship, Fulbright Scholar, Rotary International Scholarships, Hansard Scholarships, Jacob Javits Scholarships, Pew Fellowships, and a National Science Foundation Fellowship.

School Says - Admissions
The Presbyterian College campus is home to students who have demonstrated high levels of achievement in academic, leadership, and community service. The majority of incoming freshmen rank in the top quarter of their high school classes and have participated in activities ranging from athletics to music to volunteer services to student government. Presbyterian College admits students based on their academic and personal qualifications. Admission decisions are made after careful review of the application, essay, high school transcript, class rank, scores from the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or the American College Testing program (ACT), and the recommendation of a high school official. An interview is preferred, and interested students are urged to visit the campus. The College does not discriminate against applicants or students on the basis of race, religion, sex, handicap, or national or ethnic origin. PC adheres to the National Association for College Admissions Counseling's Statements of Principles of Good Practice and the Statement of Students' Rights and Responsibilities. The College recommends applicants take the highest level coursework offered in their high school, including at least four units of college preparatory English, four units of math (including Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, and pre-calculus/calculas), and three or more units each of a foreign language, laboratory science, history, and social science. An early decision plan is available for prospective students who have decided that Presbyterian College is their college choice. Applicants interested in Early Decision must have completed the application process by November 1st of their senior year. If offered an acceptance, the early decision students must submit a $400 non-refundable deposit by January 15th and must withdraw any applications filed with other institutions. The Early Action option requires that the application process be completed by Nov. 15th (also deadline to be considered for Quattlebaum, PC USA, Founders, and music scholarships, as well as the Chinese language program) and offers decision notification by Dec. 15th. The Regular Decision deadline is February 1st with a March 15th notification date. The College welcomes transfer student applicants from regionally accredited four-year institutions or junior colleges provided they have a minimum overall 2.50 grade point average in college work completed and, at the time of registration at PC, they are eligible to re-enroll in the institution last attended or, in the case of junior colleges, they have graduated.

School Says - Campus Life
Presbyterian College is located in Clinton, South Carolina. There is easy access to Greenville (40 miles north), Columbia (70 miles southeast), Charleston (160 miles southeast), the South Carolina beaches (about 3 hours away), the mountains (2 hours north), Charlotte (two hours northeast), and Atlanta (two and half hours west). The college town community of Clinton is very supportive of PC and its students.

School Says - Cost Aid
In 2007-2008 tuition at Presbyterian College was reported to cost $24,030; required fees totaled $2,290, and it is estimated that students spent $2,786 on books, supplies, transportation, and other miscellaneous expenses. Room and board is $7,610.The Financial Aid office uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as its primary application for institutional, state and federal aid programs. Approximately 95% of our student body receives some form of financial aid, including academic scholarships, athletic scholarships, grants, endowed scholarships, loans, work study, private grants and scholarships, federal and state aid. PC offers competitive scholarships in recognition for outstanding academic merit, leadership, musical talent, talent in the theater arts, church leadership, and multicultural student leadership. Music scholarships are available to non-music majors interested in participating in the various music programs. Army ROTC scholarships are also available.
