Students Say - Academics
Undergrads at Lebanon Valley College attribute a great academic experience to "professors that...really get to know you and are very willing to offer advice and guidance." As one freshman expounds, "Professors are not only interested in expanding your knowledge of your particular topic but also of expanding you as a person." LVC students are held to high standards "especially in the science fields," and many agree that this leads to a "challenging but rewarding" education. Students laud the music department stating it "places a great emphasis on personal development as a musician." The vast majority also heap praise on the administration noting they are "very good at listening to the students and helping them to succeed." A number of undergrads are also quick to highlight the fact that even the president "has an open-door policy" and can be seen "frequently walking around campus or eating in the dining hall."

Students Say - Campus Life
By and large, students agree that "life at Lebanon Valley is pretty laid back." Though it is "set in the country," LVC is "near enough to larger towns and cities so as not to feel isolated." Fortunately, the campus is generally buzzing with activity, be it the "comedians who come on Friday nights" or the regular "Saturday night dances." Additionally, since "music is big" at LVC, "many students participate in the bands/orchestras/choirs and also form their own bands or perform in theater." While undergrads admit there are definitely students "who like to party," one grateful freshman stresses "there is no pressure to drink." Students tend to venture off-campus quite a bit, often heading "to the local cafŽs or to the diner outside of town to hang out with friends and get a bite to eat." There is also a "small movie theater in town that offers discounts to students." The college itself sponsors a myriad of weekend trips with destinations such as "New York, Washington, and King of Prussia." Finally, for those undergrads who want to indulge their sweet tooth, "Hershey Park is only eight miles away."

Students Say - Student Body
On the surface, you might easily categorize LVC undergrads. "You have your student athletes, your student band members, and student actors," but many stress that "there is a group for everyone on campus." Indeed, "there are very few loners." Students readily assert that their peers are "very friendly" and always "willing to lend a hand." While the college may not appear "ethnically diverse at a glance," a freshman assures us that "diversity and acceptance are stressed by various on-campus awareness groups." And while "students are fairly similar to each other in many ways, nearly everyone embraces the differences among us, and those who are different have no problem finding others who feel or think similarly to them."
