At Bentley, students benefit from a unique integration of business and the liberal arts. As the largest business school in New England, Bentley offers remarkable depth in business topics. In addition, there is a strong commitment to the liberal arts which allows students to build skills in critical thinking, decision making, communication, and other areas essential to becoming a well-rounded, contributing member of the community. Ethics and social responsibility are key themes woven into both business and liberal arts offerings and are supported by Bentley's internationally renowned Center for Business Ethics and nationally ranked Service-Learning Center. Over the course of four years, Bentley students develop a solid understanding of the latest technologies and the ways that businesses use them to stay competitive. The focus on information technology begins early, as all Bentley freshmen receive a laptop that is fully loaded and network ready. With computer ports and wireless coverage all over campus in classrooms, residence hall rooms, dining halls, and the library students have incredibly fast and convenient access to the Internet, the Bentley network, and many other information sources. This commitment to high-tech learning is supported by an array of academic resources, including classrooms equipped with multimedia technology, student computer laboratories, and a Virtual Lab that offers online access to specialized software from anywhere on campus.

The free Bentley shuttle makes regular trips to Harvard Square in Cambridge, which is a great location and just a quick subway ride from the heart of Boston. The 4,250 students that attend Bentley live and learn in a multicultural environment that reflects and prepares them for a diverse working world. Students come from approximately 40 states and 70 countries. All students explore the topic of diversity and embrace the vitality that a varied student body adds to the college experience. Students Say - Academics
Bentley University, an institution dedicated to creating "business and business-technical leaders," combines a winning location with an intense focus on technology to produce "the business moguls of tomorrow." Students say that the "Resources here are second to none, if you need help scheduling classes, choosing a major, creating a resume...anything at all, then there is an entire office of people ready and willing to help you in any way possible." Some of Bentley's perks include "a state-of-the-art trading room, a "superbly wired campus," and a brand-new library that "has all the resources a student could need, with quite a few significant, (not so necessary) extras" (such as a "large flat-panel TV monitors in each of its 20-some odd study rooms"). Bentley doesn't just flash the hardware, though; it also teaches students how to "integrate the newest technological resources into the business environment" by "embedding them into [your] courses. This is important, because technology "is key to success in the business world, whatever profession you are interested in." Bentley's proximity to Boston "makes this a very special place," helping students find meaningful internships and, after graduation, meaningful jobs. Academics here "are challenging but not overwhelming," and most of the classes "weigh class participation in the overall grade, which motivates [you] to complete the readings and assignments in a timely manner." Professors typically have "previous real-life experience in the business world. They like to incorporate that in the classroom."
Students Say - Campus Life
Life is "very hectic" at Bentley, where "Students tend to crack down during the weekdays and really get their work done. By Thursday [we're] ready for the weekend to start." Bentley's "beautiful campus" has "tons to offer" when it comes to finding activities outside of class, including "Greek life, sports organizations," and "tons of bars, restaurants, sports events, and concerts" so that "it's hard to be bored." Intramural sports "are also very popular, as is exercising in general. Being fit and working out are definitely the 'in' things to do." There are also plenty of parties; "Registered parties are allowed (with regulations) where of-age students can have keg parties in their room," but "There is also substance-free housing available if that's not your fancy." Students across the board agree that "Boston is Bentley's main attraction." Fortunately the city "is easily accessible via the school's shuttle service." Students love to head for Cambridge, the North End, Quincy Market, and other city destinations on the weekend "just to see a show, eat at a restaurant, shop, or just walk around," although some prefer to hang out on campus because the city can be "pretty expensive."
Students Say - Student Body
The typical Bentley undergrad is "rich, foreign, and smart." Check that, they're "usually two out of the three: rich and foreign, rich and smart, or smart and foreign." Internationals make up a conspicuous subpopulation, "which is interesting" because you get to "learn from other cultures." One student writes, "Venture through any apartment complex to be greeted to the smells of Indian, Creole, Chinese, South American, and European foods. Diversity is greatly appreciated, as is evidenced by the fact that one of the events with the largest attendance each year is the Festival of Colors, an international extravaganza." The exception to the rule, we're told, is that students from Europe "hail from very big money" and "very rarely interact with domestic students." Most here, unsurprisingly, "are typical business students, usually quite driven and business-oriented. They are fairly fun loving as well," the sort who are "studious during the week, rowdy on weekends." Overall, students tend to be "preppy collar-poppin' kids" who can "talk the talk" and "take pride [in] attending Bentley."
