Who is eligible to be an Entrepreneur Connect member?

Can I promote my business on Entrepreneur Connect?

By creating a business profile on Entrepreneur Connect, you can advertise your company’s capabilities. It is a great way to put your business on the map for others to find by location and connections. However, please refrain from posting threads in the discussion groups that merely promote your business.
PROFILE:
How do I verify my Entrepreneur Connect account?
As soon as you create a profile, you will gain access to all of the Entrepreneur Connect services. Shortly after you register you will receive a welcome email containing your user name and password. It’s a good idea to save this email for future reference.
How do I change my basic account information?
To edit your profile, go to the "My Profile" tab.
What should I do if I can’t login?
First, double check that you are inputting the correct user name and password. Remember, your Entrepreneur Connect welcome email contains your credentials. If you still can’t login, contact us.
How do I cancel my membership?
Presently you do not have the ability to terminate your Entrepreneur Connect membership. To terminate your account, contact us.
How do I change my username?
Be careful when choosing your user name as the user name you choose when you signup for Entrepreneur Connect is permanent and you do not have the ability to change it. Many social networking sites employ this rule to avoid bogus accounts. However, if it is absolutely imperative that you change your user name, email us and we will delete your account, allowing you to setup a new account with a new user name.
How do I change my email address?
If you would like to change your email address, contact us and we’ll change it for you.
How do I change my password?
If you would like to change your Entrepreneur Connect login password, contact us and we’ll change it for you.
PORTFOLIO:
What is the Portfolio function?
To access your portfolio, click on the "My Profile" tab, then on “Portfolio.” From here you can share photos, presentations, documents or any other files with others. Use the form to add, update or remove files from your portfolio.
GROUPS:
How do I create a new discussion group?
In an attempt to reorganize the site, the group creation function is currently unavailable. However, if you have an idea for a new group, contact us (link), we’ll review your request and allow other Entrepreneur Connect members to vote on whether the group should be implemented on the site.
How do I join an existing discussion group?
From the list of groups, click on the group you’re interested in joining. From there, click on the “Join the Group” button. A membership request will then automatically be filed and, assuming you’re a valid Entrepreneur Connect member, the Entrepreneur staff will approve your membership shortly.
How do receive email updates for a given discussion group?
From the list of groups, click on the group you would like to receive updates for, and then click on either the “email” or “RSS” button, located in the yellow "Subscribe to…" box.
How do I manage my email group notifications?
You can manage all of your subscriptions from your profile. Select "My Profile," then "Notifications." The notifications section lists all the groups and discussions you subscribe to. If you don't want to receive emails from one or more of the groups, select "Stop Email" for that group.

Can I post the same thread across multiple groups?
Generally this is not a good idea. Since Entrepreneur Connect is intended to be a networking site where the small-business community can exchange advice and participate in meaningful discussion, mass self-promotion is inappropriate.
When the same thread is posted across multiple groups, members see it as spam. Spam is not only irritating, but can decrease the credibility of the site as a whole. Please refrain from posting the same thread across multiple discussion groups.
BLOGS:
Who can start a blog?
Anyone. All Entrepreneur Connect members have the ability to create an unlimited number of blogs. Starting your blog is easy, just answer a few questions and you can begin posting in 60 seconds. Remember, blogs are intended for ongoing posts concerning issues that are pertinent to the Entrepreneur Connect community.
INVITE:
Can I invite my friends/colleagues to join Entrepreneur Connect?
Certainly. Click on the "Make Connections" tab, and then click on “Invite.” Now simply fill out the "Invite a Colleague" form and an email will be sent to that individual, inviting them to join you on Entrepreneur Connect.
PEOPLE MAP:
What is the People Map and how can it help my business?
To access the People Map, click on the “Make Connections” tab, and then click on “People Map.” When looking at the People Map, the individuals who most closely match your interests are located near the center. Mouse over any individual to learn more about them, or click on an individual to view their full profile. This is a great way to find like-minded entrepreneurs to connect with.
