Fourteen additional people have been charged in connection with the Galleon Group insider trading case.
The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York has scheduled a 12 p.m. ET press conference on the matter. The office said it was filing criminal charges against attorneys and Wall Street professionals in a scheme that netted $20 million.
Calls to authorities have not yet been returned.
Reuters reported that the arrests are related to last month’s arrest of Galleon Group founder Raj Rajaratnam, who is charged with insider trading of various well-known companies in transactions worth $20 million.
Rajaratnam pleaded not guilty any wrongdoing.
