Spirit Airlines unveils new San Antonio-to-Fort Lauderdale service

Spirit Airlines Inc. officially launched new daily nonstop service between San Antonio and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Monday.

The Miramar, Fla.-based low-cost airline will begin a second daily flight on May 1, 2008. Spirit will operate the flights using the company's fleet of Airbus A319 aircraft.

The new Fort Lauderdale-to-San Antonio flight will leave Florida at 6:55 a.m. Eastern Time and arrive at San Antonio International Airport at 9 a.m. Central Time. The flight will then depart San Antonio at 9:30 a.m. Central Time and arrive back in Fort Lauderdale at 1:25 p.m.

Another flight will leave Fort Lauderdale at 3:55 p.m. and arrive back in San Antonio at 6 p.m. That flight will depart San Antonio at 6:30 p.m. and arrive in Florida at 10:25 p.m.

Spirit Airlines flies more than 200 daily flights to 42 destinations in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
