Report: Delgadillo files suit against Anthem Blue Cross

Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo is suing Anthem Blue Cross, and it seeking up to $1 billion in fines and restitution, according to an Associated Press report.

According to the report, Delgadillo is accusing Anthem Blue Cross of unlawfully canceling more than 6,000 policies.

Anthem Blue Cross, formerly Blue Cross of California, is based in Thousand Oaks and is the largest insurer in the state of California. Its parent company is Indianapolis' WellPoint Inc. (NYSE: WLP).
