Los Angeles developer Ed Roski has officially unveiled his plans for a stadium to lure a National Football League team to Los Angeles.

Roski has also launched a Web site with images, maps and other aspects of the proposed stadium in the City of Industry --www.losangelesfootballstadium.com.

According to the site, the stadium, which could be ready by 2011, would seat 75,000, and would be expandable to 80,000 if the stadium were to host a Super Bowl, and have 175 suites. The team would also have practice, training and medical facilities on site.

Around the stadium would be about 3 million square feet in a mixed-use development that would include office buildings, retail shops, a live theater and a movie theater. The retail aspects of the project would help offset the overall cost.

The stadium would be an asymmetric bowl built into the existing hillside.

An environmental impact report has already been completed and submitted to the City of Industry.

Roski was one of the developers, along with Philip Anschutz, of the Staples Center, and does hold a minority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings.
