Fulton County had the highest per capita personal income in Georgia in 2006, according to a U.S. Department of Commercereportpublished Thursday.
In 2006, Fulton had a per capita personal income (PCPI) of $51,476., which was equal to 160 percent of the state average of $32,095 and 140 percent of the national average of $36,714. The 2006 PCPI reflected an increase of 2.9 percent from 2005.
In 2006 Fulton had a total personal income (TPI) of $49,656,730, which also ranked first in the state and accounted for 16.6 percent of the state total.

Cobb County ranked second in the state, with a PCPI of $41,226 in 2006. The 2006 Cobb PCPI reflected an increase of 2.1 percent from 2005. In 2006, Cobb had a TPI of $28,060,168, which also ranked second in the state.
DeKalb County had a PCPI of $35,902, putting it ninth in the state in 2006. Its TPI of $26,224,61 made it third in the state.
Gwinnett County had a PCPI of $32,309, which landed it a 13th in the state. It had a TPI of $24,226,751, making it fourth.
Georgia had PCPI of $32,095, ranking it 36th in the United States and was 87 percent of the national average of $36,714. The 2006 PCPI is a 2.9 percent jump from 2005. In 2006, Georgia had a TPI of $299,834,187, ranking 11th in the United States.
