Sale of Aloha Airlines division OK'd

The sale of Aloha Airlines' contract services division was approved Thursday by a federal bankruptcy judge in Oakland, Calif.

Pacific Air Cargo, with offices in Honolulu and Los Angeles, successfully bid for the division, which handles ticketing, baggage, ground operations and other services at Hawaii airports.

The sale price was $2.05 million.

Pacific Air Cargo, founded in 2000, flies Boeing 747 freighters between Los Angeles and Honolulu and to Guam and American Samoa.

Aloha Airlines went out of business March 31. The carrier is seeking a buyer for its cargo unit.
