The Bank of Hawaii announced Friday that Peter Ho has been promoted to president.

Ho previously served as vice chairman and chief banking officer. His new position is effective immediately, Chairman and CEO Al Landon said in a press release.

"Peter is an excellent leader with solid banking experience," Landon said. "This promotion recognizes his accomplishments and the board of directors' and my confidence in his abilities. Peter's also well known for his strong commitment to our community."

In other moves at the Bank of Hawaii, Kent Lucien has been named interim chief financial officer and vice chairman. Lucien is currently a member of the bank's board of directors and served as chairman of the audit committee.

Lucien is replacing Dan Stevens, who announced earlier this week he would be returning to the Mainland.

Executive vice presidents Derek Baughman, Sharon Crofts, Lee Moriwaki and Dean Shigemura have been promoted to senior executive vice president. They will also become members of the managing committee.
