Gov. Rick Perry appointed a new chair and member to the Texas Transportation Commission, which oversees the Texas Department of Transportation.

Deirdre Delisi, a former chief of staff to Perry, and William Meadows, the chairman of Hub International Rigg, will serve terms to expire February 1, 2013.

Delisi replaces Hope Andrade and will serve as chair of the commission. Andrade was appointed chair following the death of former chair Ric Williamson, who died in December.

Meadows is vice chairman of the North Texas Tollway Authority and is a past appointee to the Texas Water Development Board. He formerly served as a city council member for Fort Worth.
