Thomas Properties secures leases for 100,000 sf

Thomas Properties Group has inked a number of significant lease deals in recent weeks totaling more than 100,000 square feet in its downtown buildings.

Top transactions include:

  • The 401K Company leased 39,770 square feet at San Jacinto Center. Rebecca Griffin at Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant.
  • Law firm Hance Scarborough Woodward & Weisbart LLP leased 11,712 square feet at One Congress Plaza. Diana Holford and Bill Gump of the Staubach Co. represented the tenant.
  • Law firm Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP renewed nearly 8,000 square feet at One America Center. Diana Holford and Kathy Carbonetti of the Staubach Co. represented the tenant.
  • Interactive marketing company Ascentium Corp. leased 8,425 square feet at 300 West Sixth Street. Trish McQueen at The Stone Group represented the tenant.
  • Law firm Fish & Richardson PC leased an additional 5,430 square feet at One Congress Plaza. Mark Minich of Cushman & Wakefield and Ford Alexander of Oxford Commercial represented the tenant.

"Austin was recently named near the top of Forbes' list of recession-proof cities, and first-quarter commercial leasing successes are evidence of the fact that Austin's economy remains strong," says Mark Miller, managing director for Thomas Properties Group. "The city's Central Business District continues to show vibrant growth in the office sector."

Los Angeles-based Thomas Properties Group owns 3.5 million square feet of office space in the Austin market, including most of the trophy downtown office buildings.
