Raytheon lands $32M contract from U.S. Navy

Raytheon Co. has landed a $32 million contract from the U.S. Navy to develop and integrate electronics systems in a class of expiditionary warships.

The work done by Waltham, Mass.-based Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems will encompass such things as providing a shipboard wide area network, total ship information management and ship electronics architecture. The IDS divisoin will also provide ongoing engineering and support services under the contract.

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), which employs 72,000 people worldwide, posted net income of $3.5 billion on $21.3 billion in revenue last year.
