Foreclosure postings in the four-county region rose 15 percent in the first half of 2008, further evidence that Austin has not been immune to housing woes.

There were 740 foreclosure postings across the area set for the June 3 auction, up 9 percent from a year earlier, according to the most recent report from the Addison-based Foreclosure Listing Service Inc.

In the first half of this year there were 4,280 postings across Travis, Williamson, Hays and Bastrop counties. That's up from 3,711 in the first half of 2007. In Travis County alone, postings reached 2,146, a new record high for the county.
