The H.J. Heinz Co. plans to rely on potato peels and green tomatoes to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent over the next seven years, the company said Tuesday.

The plan calls for the Downtown-based company (NYSE:HNZ) to reduce energy consumption and packaging, and make its transporataion network more efficient.
