Corrections Corporation of America has a new president and chairman of the board.

The Nashville-based company announced Thursday that CEO John Ferguson has been appointed chairman of the company's board of directors.

William Andrews, who had served as chairman, will now be chairman of the board's executive committee.

Damon Hininger, who had served as senior vice president, federal and local customer relations, since September 2007, has been appointed the company's president and COO.

Corrections Corporation of America is the nation's largest provider of correction management services to government agencies.
