Kaatz Binkley Jones & Morris acquires Brentwood firm

Kaatz Binkley Jones & Morris Architects Inc. has acquired the staff and offices of Atkisson-Harber Architects Inc. in Brentwood.
The move grows the number of Kaatz Binkley Jones & Morris offices to three, including their facilities in Mount Juliet and Knoxville. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1865, the firm has designed more than 600 school projects at a combined cost of more than $1 billion. The firm is working with 42 school systems across the state.

The Atkisson firm, which had been open for more than 20 years, has a solid reputation in commercial, retail and industrial design, and the diversity made a strong fit between the two firms, William Morris, chairman and chief executive officer of Kaatz Binkley Jones & Morris, says in a news release.
???In addition, we wanted to better serve our clients in Davidson and Williamson counties, as well as Maury, Marshall and other counties south of Nashville. This new office puts us in a much better position to do that,??? Morris adds.
???We have a significant pool of talent now, and this branch office is going to have much more staff support,??? say Ed Atkisson, who had partnered with Norm Harber to head Atkisson-Harber before the acquisition. Harber is now practicing privately, according to information the Atkisson-Harber Web site.
