Dana Korey, owner of Away With Clutter, says an office needs to clean, but also have an organizational system to keep it that way. Clearly, this "before" home office needs both.

After sorting through the clutter, Korey helped organize the chaotic home office by installing overhead storage that makes the most of the available wall space. She also painted it an energizing green.

When Leon Rodriguez started a design consultancy, he took the doors off a closet in his condo and turned the space into an office, spending only $30 on lumber for the shelves.

Alexandra Watkins, owner of naming firm Eat My Words, uses this diner-style booth as her desk. The decor reflects the firm's focus on food and drink businesses.

Watkins uses this pink refrigerator as storage and as a bookcase, and uses the door to display photos, rather than storing them in a drawer. The double-duty fridge is so popular with clients that Watkins uses an image of it on her business card.

Six employees work in The Cannon Group's 650-square-foot Manhattan office. Owner Jeff Cannon says the low-slug walls dividing the work areas create a more collaborative environment, ideal for a communications firm.

To furnish the office, Cannon took a van to Ikea. He uses the coffee table and chairs in lieu of a conference room.
