Product Review
Specs:
AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology (1.8 GHz), 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 250 GB, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, 6.4 lbs, 15.4 in TFT active matrix, EPA Energy Star
The Good:
Sturdy construction yet sleek design; ample RAM and hard-drive capacity for less than $1,000; includes extras such as a Labelflash optical drive and a Webcam; speakers provide passable audio.
The Bad:
AMD processor can't keep up with Intel competition; no Bluetooth option; no option for nonglossy screen.
The Bottom Line:
Toshiba's Satellite A215 is a well-balanced budget laptop. Its ample memory and big hard drive offset the low-end AMD processor, making the A215 a good deal among 15-inch mainstream laptops.
