Feds looking to hire Triangle managers

The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire 60 managers to staff Census 2010 offices in Raleigh, Durham and eight other North Carolina cities.

The following jobs are available at each of the 10 census offices: local census office manager, assistant manager for field operations, assistant manager for recruiting, assistant manager for administration, assistant manager for quality assurance and assistant manager for technology.

Pay for these full-time, temporary jobs ranges from $17.00 to $33.50 per hour, depending on position and location.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, reside in the area where the local office will be located, clear an FBI background check and pass a written management test.

In addition to Raleigh and Durham, the other temporary census offices will be located in Asheboro, Boone, Concord, Gastonia, Hickory, Rocky Mount, Wilmington and Winston-Salem.

Five early local census offices opened late last year in Asheville, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Greensboro and Greenville.
