OUTERBOUNDS UNVEILS NVOX IP SOFTSWITCH RESELLER PROGRAM.

OuterBounds Technologies (OBT), Atlanta, has launched nVox, an IP telephony suite that is available to resellers. The first product unveiled in the nVox family, is the IP SPBX (Softswitch Private Branch eXchange).

nVox, delivers architecture to resellers that allows them the ability to offer small to medium size business an economical solution to traditional PBX's as well as the ability to define a clear migration to IP-based telephony services. The system can easily be configured to perform as a primary IP phone system or as a migration strategy from traditional TDM phone services to an IP-based architecture. Flexibility in the configuration of the platform to support both traditional and IP-based service is a key benefit of the solution.

nVox, allows the end users to manage all nVox capabilities through their own PC via a thin client interface or communicate in a more traditional way via IP phones. Users can personalize dozens of call features via the thin client and administrators can make moves and changes remotely with out having the traditional equipment shuffling or demand for onsite resources.

OBT will launch a pilot with Mobiam, testing the nVox IP SPBX products features (IP voice, Remote management, etc.) later this year. The products features will be tested for functionality, easy of use, performance, and application integration. OBT and Mobiam have agreed to perform the pilot so that the refinement and verification of the nVox IP SPBX product features could occur in a real work scenario, rather than "being develop in a vacuum". Mobiam decided to work with OBT to be sure the product worked in their networks and also to see how the product would actually save them traditional telephony costs. Some of the issues to be explored include non-technical concerns, such as how to perform remote site telephony support, how to reduce traditional telephony usage per month, and how to integrate the product.
