Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK), San Rafael, Calif., design software and digital content company, has announced that global leader Hyundai Heavy Industry Offshore & Engineering Division has implemented approximately 200 licenses of AutoCAD(R) Mechanical design software in combination with the Autodesk Streamline(R) online collaboration service to accomplish the following:

-- improve its productivity and time to market with a single optimized business process for large projects;

-- create an efficient collaboration environment to share data and drawings safely, among divisions and foreign engineering companies; and

-- increase its competitiveness and advance to a world leadership position.

"We often handle large projects that require a progressive collaboration environment for business transactions. We determined that Autodesk is the best company to supply this technology for sharing project-specific data safely and efficiently, that's why we chose them as our collaboration solution partner without hesitation," said Young Choi, manager of Engineering IT, Hyundai Heavy Industry Offshore & Engineering Division.

"By providing an easy-to-use, easy-to-install solution with secure access -- anytime and anywhere -- Autodesk Streamline technology, combined with any of our 2D and 3D mechanical design packages such as AutoCAD Mechanical, allows manufacturing supply chain team members to share digital design and business data instantly, helping to reduce costs and simplify business processes," said Robert Kross, vice president of the Manufacturing Solutions Division at Autodesk.

Using Autodesk software to collaborate on large projects, Hyundai Heavy Industry's Offshore & Engineering Division (http://www.hhi.co.kr) is able to control design information single-handedly, backup the data safely, offer more extensive customer service programs, and manage its processes more cost-effectively. The company expects its productivity to increase dramatically through smooth planning and the integration of the entire business processes from project orders to implementation and management across their entire project lifecycle. "Since organizing a Korean-focused Autodesk solution sales team earlier this year, Autodesk has successfully implemented its solutions in major companies throughout the country-positioning itself as the leading provider of design and data management solutions for the building, manufacturing, and business infrastructure industries in Korea."
