IMPLICATIONS FOR MARKETERS.
by EDIMAX USA PUBLICATIONS
China and India will be the driving forces behind growth in Asian
private sector consumption for years to come. Although China is the
worlds largest consumer base at present, it will be eclipsed by India
before 2050. The rate in household consumption growth will be higher in
China than in India over the next few years, although Chinese gains will
mainly be concentrated in industrialized cities located in the eastern
and southern coastal regions.
Demand for capital goods and industrial services will experience
more dynamic growth in China than in India through 2005. As a result of
Chinas rapid industrial development, orders for inputs will expand at a
considerably higher rate than in India.
