Sony has launched the VAIO K series notebooks, which are practical,
portable and eye-catching. All models in the K series, including the
PCG-K13, PCG-K15 and PCG-K17 notebooks, feature Sony's exclusive
XBRITE display technology for sharp contrast, crisp graphics and
breathtaking color resolution during video playback. Integrated wireless
connectivity with IEEE 802.11b/g networks also comes standard across the
board.
On the higher end, the K15 and K17 models also incorporate
dual-format DVD (+/- RW) burning drives and Sony's Click to DVD
software, so you can easily take digital camcorder footage from tape to
DVD in as little as one mouse click. The portable multimedia notebooks
are wrapped in a slick silver casing and are expected to sell for less
than $2,000.
Multimedia and Muscle
The entire line of K series notebooks is powered by the latest
Intel Pentium 4 processors and sports a suite of Sony multimedia
software for creating, managing and sharing music, photos and video.
Applications include SonicStage software for managing digital music
files and DVgate Plus software with precision editing features for
easy-to-use, high quality video editing.
Each also has VAIO Media software, Sony's simple interface for
sharing digital content among PCs and other AV devices on a home
network.
Roomy hard drives ranging from 40 to 80GB also distinguish this
line. All come equipped with a variety of ports, including USB 2.0,
Memory Stick PRO media slots and i.LINK (IEEE 1394) interfaces for
connectivity with a wide spectrum of compatible digital devices.
The K series of VAIO notebooks are available at retail outlets
nationwide. They also can be purchased online, at
