Weekly UpdatesCOMPANHIA VALE DO RIO DOCE (CVRD), a Brazilian iron ore producer, signed a contract with Chinas Shanghai Baosteel Group to increase its supply of iron ore to the Chinese company from 2006 to 2016. CVRD will deliver 20 million tons of iron ore annually by 2010 and continue at that level until 2016. A previous contract between the two companies signed in October 2001 called for the supply of just 6 million tons annually.
