It is sad to read such a biased article, such as "Paying the Piper" (January 2004). Perhaps it would have been interesting to mention how local stocks have soared during the last year, how the currency has dramatically strengthened or why international investors keep buying Colombian debt in the international markets, such as bond issuances at the beginning of 2004. The answer: There was a lot of money to be made! Instead, the article focused on repeating everything we already knew.
