THE OVERSEAS PRIVATE INVESTMENT CORPORATION, a U.S. government agency, approved US$55 million in financing for the United States' Darby-BBVA Latin American Private Equity Fund as part of an effort of the U.S. government to stimulate trade and investment in the region. OPIC also approved another $35 million to create a fund for housing projects in Latin America.
