Weekly UpdatesDOE RUN, a U.S. mining company, will permanently shut down part of its zinc plant in La Oroya by 2005 to reduce dust, metal and sulfur dioxide emissions. Doe Rtm said the emissions were increasing blood lead levels among people living nearby.
