Montevideo is the best place to live in Latin America according to a quality-of-life survey conducted by Mercer Human Resource Consulting. The firm assessed factors such as crime, traffic and the environment in 215 cities worldwide. After weathering four years of economic recession, Buenos Aires captured a respectable second place among the Latin American cities featured in the survey, followed by Santiago. Latin American cities with the worst quality of life were San Salvador, San Pedro Sula and lastly Havana. Switzerland's Zurich and Geneva tied for first place on the global list.
