TenFold(R) Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: TENF), Salt Lake City,
provider of the EnterpriseTenFold(TM) platform for building and
implementing enterprise applications, has introduced AnyFile, an
EnterpriseTenFold feature that lets TenFold-powered applications operate
on operating system files in addition to databases.
"It's really convenient to access files directly from a
TenFold-powered application," said Joe Quinn, TenFold's Senior
vice president of product marketing. "We build applications that
share thousands of Microsoft(R) Office, Adobe(R) PDF, and other
documents. Such files add tremendous value to any TenFold-powered
application by providing background and context. AnyFile lets us build
applications that support any file without the hassle of opening Windows
Explorer and navigating a network each time to find a specific file. One
mouse click and EnterpriseTenFold provides the file we want."
EnterpriseTenFold provides an AnyFile feature that lets you access
files that you store on network-available computer from your
TenFold-powered application. When you add a file in a TenFold-powered
application, your application can, optionally, secure the file in your
RDBMS, so, once secured, it need not be on a shared network. For
example, an employee transaction in a personnel application can use
AnyFile to reference photos on a company network so that end-users can
open and view employee pictures as they review employee data. Or,
alternatively, the application can automatically load each file into the
personnel database so the file need not be on a shared network. When an
applications end-user clicks an AnyFile icon, their TenFold-powered
application opens the file in the context of its format. So, a Word
document opens in Word, for example. AnyFile is available today in
EnterpriseTenFold and in Tsunami.
"People want fewer keystrokes, fewer mouse clicks, and more
information at their fingertips," said Alexei Chadovich,
TenFold's senior vice president of Research and Development.
"So why shouldn't people have access to any file from their
business application? Who wants to hunt for files? We designed AnyFile
to eliminate wasteful steps and give end-users access to the information
they want -- in the format they are used to seeing it -- now."
"We're constantly adding new features that give
EnterpriseTenFold end-users more speed, quality, and power than they
thought possible in a software application," said Dr. Nancy Harvey,
TenFold's president and CEO. "AnyFile -- like thousands of
other EnterpriseTenFold features -- demonstrates our commitment to
making TenFold-powered application end-users the most productive
software end-users imaginable."
TenFold recently released on its web site a movie called EasyDocs
which shows many AnyFile capabilities and illustrates some useful
version management capabilities that you can add to any TenFold-powered
application to manage file versions. You can see EasyDocs by going to

of which highlights a particular EnterpriseTenFold feature, or click
