Weekly UpdatesCOPA, a Panamanian airline, made a bid to acquire bankrupt Colombian airliner Avianca for an undisclosed sum. The move follows a bid made by Brazilian conglomerate Grupo Sinergy, which offered US$64 million in cash for a 75% stake in Avianca plus the ailing carrier's debt.
