WHIRLPOOL, a U.S. manufacturer of home appliances, will invest
US$80 million in its washing machine factory in Monterrey, Mexico, and
in the construction of a new refrigerator factory in Coahuilla, Mexico.
The investment is part of a $180 million plan that includes new
production
plants in several U.S. states.
