Weekly UpdatesIntercell International Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: IICP), through its subsidiary Brunetti DEC, has been awarded a contract with the Village of Jackson, Wis., to construct and manage a wireless broadband network for the VILLAGE. Brunetti DEC is a Denver-based broadband solutions provider that specializes in working with municipalities looking to develop advanced data networks. The Village of Jackson wireless network is designed to not only provide untethered mobile high-speed Internet access, but also to deliver such emerging technologies as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
"The overall goal of this project is to both enhance and facilitate the delivery of public services within the Village of Jackson, while at the same time contributing to the overall quality of life enjoyed by its citizens," said Brunetti DEC CEO & president, Charlie Brunetti.
This contract is the culmination of a feasibility study that the Village of Jackson engaged Brunetti DEC to perform. This study evaluated the economic viability of just such a network for the 400-acre business district within the city. It was found that the five to six square mile development area was indeed a prime candidate for a wireless hybrid network that incorporated both WiFi and WiMAX technologies. The resulting design will feature speeds in excess of 20 mbps to the end user, well in excess of those currently available via DSL or cable modem delivery.
"We were looking for the best possible partner to deliver this network to our community," said Del Beaver, Village administrator. "We knew that we had to find a group with both the technical expertise and background of success necessary to make the transition as smooth as possible. Brunetti DEC was just that group."
The Village is also committed to Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and a fiber optical backbone for business and industry. Brunetti DEC provided the design and specifications for bidding the installation in the near future.
