APANI NETWORKS ADDS VPN CLIENT SUPPORT FOR LINUX 2.6.

Apani Networks, has released the Apani Networks VPN Client v3.1.1 for secure connection to Nortel VPN Routers (formerly known as Contivity Secure IP Services Gateways). This version adds support for Linux Kernel-Source 2.6.

Apani Networks VPN Client establishes secure connections to the Nortel VPN Router gateway from multiple operating systems including the latest versions of Linux. This client software enables user-level authentication, virtual IP address assignment, NAT traversal, and remote policy update and administration. The VPN client also provides for granular control of access policies and denial or termination of client connections.

System Administrators installing the VPN client can use pre-configured files for setting address and security parameters. A customizable client appearance will enable IT administrators to provide user name and password authentication screens for database authentication (LDAP) or Radius Authentication for user IDs. Use of Digital Certificates and RSA SecureID is also supported.

"With the Linux market pushing 44% CAGR, we believe it is essential for us to support this operating system," said Chris Chen, VP of sales for Apani Networks. "The Apani VPN client gives traveling or home-based Linux users the security they need to do business anywhere."

The Apani Networks VPN Client currently supports the following Linux versions: Linux (x86); Linux kernel 2.2.x, 2.4.x, and 2.6.x; RedHat 7.0 to 7.3 and RedHat 8.0 and 9.0; Fedora Core 1 and Core 2; and SUSE 8.2, 9.0, 9.1.

The Apani Networks VPN Client is immediately available from Apani Networks at http://www.apani.com/. The List price is $95 USD per client and includes a one-year maintenance agreement. Volume pricing is available.
